1165 cases, 11 deaths recordedManipur logs over 1000 cases in a day for the 10th time in July

IMPHAL, Jul 27 : For the tenth time, Manipur has logged above 1000 new cases in the month of July alone, that is till July 27. This is also the sixth time that the State has registered more than 1000 cases in a day ever since the ten days total curfew came into force on July 18.
The dates on which Manipur totalled more than 1000 cases on a day were on July 14, July 15, July 16, July 17, July 20, July 21, July 23, July 24, July 25 and July 27.
In a statement the COVID-19 Common Control Room said that 1165 people returned positive results in the last 24 hours.
The 1165 cases were detected out of a total of 6329 samples to take the daily positivity rate to 18.4 percent.
The total 1165 include four Central security personnel and out of the 1161 civilians, 575 were women.
On the other hand, the State reported 11 deaths due to the virus in the last 24 hours.
The deceased were from Imphal West (2), Imphal East (2), Thoubal (2), Kakching (1), Ukhrul (1), Kangpokpi (1) and Churachandpur (2).
Out of the 11 deaths, 8 persons had co-morbidities and only three were vaccinated with the first dose, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
With the addition of 11 more, the total number of deaths recorded so far in the State is 1498.
The 1165 positive cases were confirmed at RIMS (10), JNIMS (100), District Hospitals (831) and other testing centres (224).
The 1161 positive cases from  amongst the civil population are drawn from Imphal East (299), Imphal West (337), Thoubal (58), Bishnupur (105), Kakching (63), Ukhrul (12), Churachandpur (123), Chandel (66), Senapati (8), Tamenglong (31), Tengnoupal (2), Noney (9), Kangpokpi (23), Kamjong (12) and Jiribam (13).
Necessary measures including contact tracing and containment are in place, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
With the addition of 1165 more cases, the cumulative number of positive cases in the State has gone up to 94,821 including 3972 from the Central security personnel.
The number of active cases has gone above the ten thousand mark and now stands at 10,802 including 50 Central security personnel.
A total of 876 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours including 292 from home isolation, RIMS (21), JNIMS (12), CCCs (192) and CHICs (359).
The cumulative number of recovered cases is now 82,521 including 3972 Central security personnel and the recovery rate is 87.02 percent.
The number of active cases is 10,802 including 50 Central security personnel.
On July 26, 28,287 people received their vaccination jabs to take the total number of vaccinated  people to 1055849 and out of this the total number of people who have received their second dose is 1,78,281.
In the last 24 hours a total of 2160 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 463 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State.
