Drugs seized

TENGNOUPAL, Jul 27 : Moreh Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR(S) seized 20.916 kgs of WY tablets worth about Rs 10 crore from Molnom village yesterday.
During routine patrolling along the Indo-Myanmar border, the troops observed suspicious movement of individuals on a two-wheeler, said a statement of IGAR(S).
On being challenged by the security forces, the individuals abandoned the vehicle and escaped into the jungle.
On checking the area, the troops found a bag containing about 2 lakh WY tablets. The  cost of the narcotics seized is assessed to be worth Rs 10 crore, added IGAR (S).
The seized narcotics and the foreign-origin motorcycle were handed over to Moreh Police for further necessary legal action.
