IMPHAL, Jul 27 : Owing to the Covid pandemic, the All Club  Organisation Association and Meira  Paibi Lup (ACOAM-Lup) observed "Integrity Protection Day" in a low key manner at its office, today.
A press release issued by ACOAM-Lup stated that July 27 has been observed as "Integrity Protection Day" every year, commemorating the day when a  phrase ‘without territorial limit’  in the Bangkok Agreement signed between the NSCN (IM) and Government of India on June 14, 2001 was removed, following a strong protest by the people.
Saying that the people of Manipur have been fighting different issues that have the tendency to  alter the State's territory, ACOAM-Lup recalled that 18 lives were martyred in the movement of 2001.
The movement was a spontaneous reaction to the the inclusion of the phrase ‘without territorial limit’ in the ceasefire pact between the NSCN (IM) and the Government of India which was signed in Bangkok.
The ACOAM-Lup also cautioned that the fate of State's territory is still unknown as conditions under which the Framework Agreement of August 2015 was signed is yet to be disclosed.
Meanwhile, the Lup urged the State Government to work out a new strategy for defeating COVID-19.
