IMPHAL, Jul 6: The Manipur Wrestling Association and the Community Recreation Centre Cum Library (CRCL), Ningomthong have condoled the untimely demise of Ningombam Nonibala Devi- a wrestling coach at SAI Akhara, Langhin in Assam on July 4.
N Nonibala from Ningomthong Kitna Panung, was the first international woman wrestling referee from the North East and second from the country, recalled both the bodies in separate condolence notes.
Nonibala who completed Diploma in wrestling in 2007-2008 session had won bronze medals at 32nd National Games and Senior Women Wrestling C'ships-2002 and 2006, the bodies recalled . She had also served as India's coach on multiple occasions, the bodies said.
The Manipur Wrestling Association had observed two minute silence as a mark of respect to the late coach during an emergency meeting, said the association.
