1.50 lakh WY tablets seized

IMPHAL, Sep 18: A team of Kakching district commando personnel arrested four drug peddlers and seized 1,50,000 WY amphetamine tablets from  Pallel Laimang Ching-jin commando check-post yesterday afternoon.
Acting on specific information about illegal trans- portation of banned drug items along Asian Highway-I (Imphal-Moreh road) in a Tata Xenon, a team of Kakching commandos under the command of Md Abash Khan, OC Kakching Unit intercepted the Tata Xenon at Pallel Laimang Chingjin commando check-post.
The vehicle was occupied by three persons identified as S Lhunkhou Haokip (26) s/o Senchong Thongkhothang Haokip, Mangvum Tongminthang alias M Samuel (33) S/o Chungkhojang Haokip and David Thangminlun Haokip (24) s/o M Thongsei Haokip all from Tengnoupal village,  
On checking and searching the vehicle, one rice bag containing 15 plastic packets (wrapped with brown colour tape and covered with transparent plastic marked as YA 3030 tablets were found concealed behind the rear seat of the vehicle.  
The 15 plastic packets were found containing 1,50,000 ( one lakh fifty thousand) WY tablets.
The commando team seized the WY tablets from the possession of  M Tongminthang alias M Samuel and a mobile phone was also recovered from his possession.
On spot examination, Mangvum Tongminthang disclosed that the contraband items were procured from one Lenlen of Khudengthabi village and the illegal items were supposed to be handed over to one Md Wahid Khan s/o Md Soukat Ali of Sangaiyumpham Cherapur, presently staying at Sora Ching Wangma.
In a follow up action, Md Wahid khan was also arrested from Kakching Lamkhai at 3:50 pm and seized one mobile phone and one two-wheeler moped (Yamaha Cygnus Ray ZR) from his possession.
Hence, all four of them were arrested along with the WY tablets by observing necessary formalities and  a case was registered at Kakching police station for further necessary action.
