IMPHAL, Sep 18: Highlighting the difficulties and inconveniences of running a coalition Government, Chief Minister N Biren has appealed to all the people to elect a BJP-exclusive Government in the next term.
Speaking at a Seva Aur Samarpan Abhiyan function held at the BJP State unit office in commemoration of the 71st birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, N Biren remarked that people are witnesses to how his Government sailed on choppy waters during the last four years in the midst of political uncertainty marked by party-hopping, resignations etc.
He then called upon the gathering to ensure that BJP secures absolute majority in the next State Assembly election and there is stability in the State under a BJP-exclusive Government.
The return of BJP to power is in the hands of womenfolk. It is the collective decision of womenfolk which would determine the fate of Manipur, he said.
Speaking at the gathering organised by BJP Mahila Morcha, N Biren hailed Narendra Modi as an exceptional leader.
He went on to claim that there was no Prime Minister other than Narendra Modi who could understand the plight of Indian people.
The function was organised with an idea that healthy women would groom healthy children and healthy citizens would make the Nation prosperous, he said.
It was in recognition of women’s dignity that the Prime Minister launched a mission of constructing toilets for households which did not have toilets.
The changes seen in the State under the BJP-led Government were enabled by the support extended by the Prime Minister and the BJP National president, Biren said.
“Nothing can be done without their support. We must do everything possible to bring rapid development in the State when the State Government is being supported by the Prime Minister and the BJP National president”, the Chief Minister continued.
He appealed to the gathering to pray that Narendra Modi remains the Prime Minister of India for maximum number of years.
Addressing the gathering where nutritious food packets were distributed to many pregnant women, BJP State president A Sharda maintained that everyone ought to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for serving the weaker section on his birthday instead of indulging in merry-making.
The function was also attended by BJP National spokesperson and Manipur in-charge Dr Sambit Patra,       North East in-charge Ajay Jamwal, Manipur and Nagaland general secretary (organisation) Abhay Kumar Giri, Works and Power Minister Th Biswajit and TD Minister Vungzagin Valte.
