The Demand Committee for Creation of Autonomous District Councils (DCCADCs) of Pherzawl, Kamjong, Noney and Tengnoupal Districts has conveyed gratitude to the State Government led by BJP for setting the stage ready for election of ten (10) Autonomous District Councils including Pherzawl, Noney, Kamjong and Tengnoupal districts.
In a statement, DCCADCs said that Chief Minister N Biren Singh is working equally for the welfare of the people irrespective of hills and valleys by organizing different programmes such as Go to Hills 2.0.
This pro people policy of the BJP led NDA Government in Manipur evokes mixed reaction from different political parties but the common citizens are very responsive and encouraging, it said and claimed that using some tribal based Civil Society Organisations by the Opposition to mislead the public on the issue of HAC recommended ADC Bill 2021 that is not Constitutionally acceptable, however, is unfortunate.
Saying that the non introduction of the Manipur (Hill Areas) ADC Bill 2021 was used as a tool to mislead the tribal people, the DCCADCs claimed that the Opposition party led by Congress is planning to draw a political mileage by disturbing the normal situation of Manipur just ahead of the Assembly election.
The Congress is playing proxy politics by instigating some tribal student organisations to create a political storm on this issue is a clear sign of frustration for power, the committee claimed and appealed to all not to fall to the ploy of the Opposition parties.
The incumbent Government under the leadership of N Biren Singh is tirelessly working for the tribal people of all hill districts to ensure equal political rights for administrative convenience.
The DCCADCs then appealed to all the tribal base Civil Society Organisations and the people to refrain from disturbing the normal situation of Manipur but cooperate with the Government policy. The ‘Go to Hills 2.0 programme was widely welcomed and successfully conducted recently in Churachandpur Headquarters and Chandel districts respectively.
The committee further appealed to the people of Tamenglong and Noney districts to welcome the ‘Go to Hills 2.0’ programme to be conducted in Tamenglong on September 22.
