Ukhrul, Sep 19: Ukhrul Hills Development Foundation (UHDF) in collaboration with National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC) organised free health camp at the border villages of Huishu and Awangkasom under Chingai Sub-division in Ukhrul district.
Ningchui G Shatsang, managing director cum CEO of UHDF stated that the medical camp was organised to provide routine medical check up for the economically backward families living in Indo-Myanmar border area.
The medical team led by CMO Ukhrul, Dr Kapangring were stationed at Huishu village for the health camp. The visiting medical team conducted tests on Malaria, Typhoid, flu, etc.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Changmei S Ningshen enlightened the villagers on food habits and urged the people to observe a proper balanced diet.
More than 500 persons from the neighbouring villages of Poi, Kuirei, Ngahui, Marem took part in the medical camp held separately in Huishu and Awangkasom.
Out of which, 50 persons from Huishu village were vaccinated with covid-19 vaccine  during the camp.
The visiting team distributed dolo-Paracetamol, zincovit vitamin C, Ivermectin, paracetamol, ascoril, cough syrups, etc to all the patients free of cost.  
Later, face masks and sanitizers were also distributed to spread awareness on COVID-19.
The two days medical camp was funded by National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC) under CSR programme, Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India, Delhi.
