IMPHAL, Sep 19: Nishikant Singh Sapam has reiterated his stand to work for the welfare of the people of his constituency and the State at large.
Nishikant Singh Sapam, owner of The Sangai Express who is gearing up for the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election which is likely to be held in the early part of 2022, made the remark while inaugurating election offices at various polling stations in Keishamthong AC today and added that he ventured into electoral politics with an aim of doing more work for the constituency and the State.
Maintaining that every individual of Keishamthong AC are reasonable people, he expressed confidence that he can win over the public with truth and the the public would eventually extend support to him based on the work he has done. After continuously  working for the constituency, he wants to spend more and more time with the people, he added.
Responding to a question from the media regarding a number of candidates intending to fight for Keishamthong AC on BJP ticket, Nishikant Singh Sapam said the party will take into considerations the works done by the intending candidates, their wave and their chances of winning the election before giving party ticket. BJP leeaders at both the National level and State will never give tickets based on personal relationship with the candidates, he added.
Regarding the concern of some sections of the public regarding  his social work starting when the election is a few months away, he clarified that he had been involved in social work since the last 15-20 years including construction of local clubs and relief work during natural disasters from time to time.
Nishikant Singh Sapam added social and humanitarian works are to be done in private but as election is approaching he had just started to make the work done by him and his team public. Election campaigns are not necessary but reaching out to people should be done with actual work on the ground, he maintained.
Team Nishikant had also organised mass vaccination camp and vaccinated more than 8,000 individuals and a 24 hours ambulance service has been running to aid the public during such trying times, he added.
Nishikant Singh Sapam also appealed to the public to extend their cooperation as he cannot Nishikant Sapam reiterates commitment to public welfare  develop the constituency alone and will need every bit of cooperation from everyone in the AC.
He also said it gave him immense satisfaction on being able to help the bed-ridden individual from Khoubuk village in Sugnu AC.
Election offices of Team Nishikant were opened today at Oinam Leikai, Khwairakpam Leikai, Nepra Menjor Leikai, Maisnam Nongthombam Leikai and Akham Leikai.
