Oppn parties protest gets

IMPHAL, Sep 20 : The State wide protest called by 11 Opposition parties in the State in line with the Nationwide protest to press 11 points/demands on the Modi-led NDA Government was kicked off today at Nambol with a meeting.
The Nationwide protest is being called by 19 Opposition parties and 11 Opposition parties in the State viz-AIFB, AITC, BSP, CPI (M), INC, JD (S), MPP, NCP, PRJA and BSP joined hands to express solidarity to the protest.
The protest seeking several demands including immediate Supreme Court-monitored judicial enquiry into the use of Pegasus Spyware for surveillance of people, withdrawal of three Farm Laws, reduction of Central Excise duties on petroleum and diesel, transfer of Rs 7,500  to each household outside the income tax paying bracket, distribution of food kits; ramping up of vaccination and others, will continue  till September 30.
The protest meeting at Nambol was attended by MPCC president, N Loken; CPI (M) secretary, Kshetrimayum Santa; CPI-MSC secretary, L Sotin; AITC convenor, Dr Th Inaocha; AIFB secretary, Kh Gyaneshor; NCP president, S Iboyaima Singh; CPI leader, Dr M Nara; MPCC vice presidents, T Mangibabu and Kh Devabrata; MPCC general secretary L Tilotama; CPI (M) Secretariat member, Sarat Salam and Nambol Block Congress president, L Lokendro Singh. N Loken, L Sotin, Sarat Salam, Dr M Nara, S Iboyaima, T Mangibabu and Kshetrimayum Santa spoke on the unauthorized snooping using Pegasus spyware; farmers' protests over three new laws, gross mismanagement of Covid-19 pandemic, price rise and spiraling unemployment during the protest meeting.
