Below 200 count continues with 197 new cases, 3 deaths reported

IMPHAL, Sep 21 : New cases below the 200 mark continue for the second successive day with Manipur returning a figure of 197 new cases, including 20 Central security personnel, in the last 24 hours.
On September 20, Manipur saw a spike of 178 new cases.
Manipur also saw the second lowest daily positivity rate in the month of September with 6.6 percent. This is just above the 6.5 percent logged on September 12.
The 197 new positive cases were detected out of a total of 3002 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
On the other hand, three more persons fell prey to the virus in the same period of time.
Quoting the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee, the COVID-19 Common Control Room in a statement said that the deceased persons were from  Imphal East (1), Ukhrul (1) and Kangpokpi (1).
Not one of the victims had been vaccinated, said the statement and added that two out of the three suffered from co-morbidities.
With the addition of three more deaths, the cumulative number of deaths due to the virus is now 1835.
The 197 people, including 20 Central security personnel who returned positive results were tested at RIMS (4), JNIMS (35) and other testing centres (158).
The 177 persons who tested positive from amongst the general population are from Imphal East (47), Imphal West (78), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (3), Kakching (7), Ukhrul (5), Churachandpur (20), Chandel (1), Senapati (3), Tamenglong (4), Kamjong (1) and Kangpokpi (7).
Imphal East was the only district to have a daily positivity rate in the double figure with 10.3 percent. The district  returned 47 new cases out of a total of 456 samples tested.
Ukhrul with 24 new cases, including Central security personnel had a daily positivity rate of 8 percent as the new cases came from 299 samples tested.
Other districts to return above the 5 percent positivity rate were Imphal West with 7.7 percent, Kakching with 6.9 percent, Kangpokpi 8.5 percent and Churachandpur with 7 percent.
In the last 24 hours 203 persons were discharged from home isolation (56), RIMS (8), JNIMS (8), CCCs (125), and CHICs (6).
The cumulative number of recovered cases has now gone up to 1,14,861 including 4188 Central security personnel.
The recovery rate is 96.63 percent.
With 197 more cases added, the cumulative figure of positive cases in the State has gone up to 1,18,870 including 4260 Central security personnel and the number of active cases is 2174.
In the last 24 hours 7287 persons received their vaccination shots taking the total number of vaccinated people to 16,33,873 including 4,18,658 people who have received their second jab.
A total of 980 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 239 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State.
