Lamyanba Hijam Irawat's bust unveiled

Lamyanba Hijam Irawat's bust was unveiled today at Tentha in a function organised by Tentha Makha Leikai Youth Development Organisation (TMYDO), Tentha Khunjao held at TMYDO ground. The bust was donated by social and cultural activist Rakesh Naorem.
According to a press note released by TMYDO the event was attended by Khangembam Priyojit, Chairman & Managing Director Khapri Industries Pvt. Ltd., Naorem Naocha, president TMYDO Tentha, Huidrom Kullachandra, CEO & Chairman of Iramdam Financial Solution Pvt. Ltd and MDF Group of Company and Rakesh Naorem, social and cultural activist as presidium members.
Other notable guests included  Dr Kshetri Tama, Up-Adhakshya Imphal East Zilla Parishad, Dr Maibam Eeten Meitei, proprietor Eeten Computerised Eye Testing and Eye Care Centre, Ningombam (O) Ranibala Leima, proprietor M/S Purnima Enterprises, Wahengbam Hemabati, Principal Bishnupur Higher Secondary School, Keke Wahengbam, former announcer All India Radio, Khundrakpam Kanba Meetei, social worker and Salam (O) Bhajani, active member Like Minded Group.
Speaking at the event, Rakesh Naorem briefly touched upon the life and events of Hijam Irawat.
He stated that the bust was erected in connection with the 125th birth anniversary month of Lamyanba Irawat and hoped it would instill a sense of nationalism into the youth as well as  inspire them through the example of Hijam Irawat.
It may be noted that the function was accompanied by performances of songs, dances etc among others as well as offering of floral tribute.
