Awareness programme on 'Natural calamity' held

TENGNOUPAL, Sep 21: District Administration Tengnoupal in association with 12 Battalion National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) jointly organised a community awareness programme on 'Natural Calamity' at Tengnoupal Village Community Hall on Tuesday.
The awareness programme organised under the supervision of S Surchandra, SDO Tengnoupal and 12 Battalion NDRF Commandant, Rajesh Thakur would be conducted till September 30 in different locations of Tengnoupal Block and Machi Block under Tengnoupal district.
Speaking on the occasion, NDRF Inspector, GD Titus Sekho highlighted the various activities carried out by the 12 NDRF Battalion of Manipur to save lives during a natural disaster.
He also stressed on "dos and don'ts" to be followed by the public during a natural disaster.
The programme was participated by village chiefs of Tengnoupal Block along with members of Village Authorities and Youth Clubs.
Later, representative of NDRF also demonstrated various life-saving methods.
