Dy Speaker fetes Asian Youth Boxing C'hip gold medallist Bishwamitra Chongtham

IMPHAL, Sep 28 : Boxer Bishwamitra Chongtham who clinched a gold medal for India at the Asian Youth Boxing Championship recently hosted at Dubai was felicitated warmly by Deputy Speaker and MLA of Mayang Imphal AC, Kongkham Robindro today.
The reception programme was organised by Academic Incentive Committee, Sarita Regional Boxing Academy, Social Economic Development Organisation and Mayang Imphal Social Welfare Club at Multipurpose hall at Mayang Imphal Keithel.
Speaking at the occasion, K Robindro applauded the stupendous performance of Bishwamitra at the continental event and expressed hope that many players would emerge from the AC in days to come and bring laurels to the Country and the State.
He also feted the boxer with a cash incentive of Rs 50,000 at the occasion.
Bishwamitra who struck gold in the 51 kg event at the Asian Championship expressed gratitude to all the well wishers and supporters at the occasion.
He also continued that he is putting in more effort to seal a berth in the Paris Olympics 2024 and shine at the event.
Boxing great, Sarita who was also part of the programme praised Bishwamitra for his performance and exuded confidence that her academy will soon be able to produce eminent boxers like Bishwamitra.
