5-A side soccer and volleyball Open tournaments conclude at Tadubi

Senapati, Sep 28 : A 5-A side men's open soccer league tournament and 3-A-side men's and women's volleyball  tournaments organised by Tadubi Town Committee in aid of Tadubi Town Committee Office Construction from September 24 last concluded today.
Officials of 33 Assam Rifles, Maram Battalion paid a visit to the tournament venue on September 26 extended assistance to the organizing committee.
Altogether, 10 women and 26 teams participated in the women and men's volleyball tournament while 48 teams participated soccer tournament.
The Willong women’s team emerged champions of the volleyball tournament by beating Seven Sisters’ team (Maram Khullen) in the final and walked away with cash prize of Rs 10,000. The runners up team were awarded Rs 5,000.
Meanwhile  Blinders (Mao) bagged the men's volleyball title beating Kingfisher A (Poumai). The winners were feted with Rs 15,000 cash prize and the runners up Kingfisher A with Rs 7,000.
The Silent Knight (Pudunamei) were on the other hand crowned champions of the soccer tournament as they won 2-1 on penalties against Houkas (Katomei) after a goalless draw during normal time and extra time.
 The soccer champions, Silent Knight (Pudunamei) walked away Rs 30,000 richer while the runners up, Houkas (Katomei) team settled with Rs 15,000.
The Tadubi Town Committee, organizing committee of the open tournament expressed gratitude to all the participated teams and FCs, all the spectators, officials/refs and the 33 Assam Rifles for their kind support and cooperation.
The tournament ended peacefully on a high note with participation from different communities of the district including the Mao, Maram, Poumai, Thangal and Tangkhul.
