MPP appeals

IMPHAL, Jan 24: Taking election as a festival will make it hard for the State to choose efficient leaders in the upcoming election.
Dr S Ibomcha and A Bele, MPP intending candidates in Sugnu and Andro ACs said this at a press conference held at MPP office today and added that MPP candidates have resolved not to join the race of hoisting numerous flags and large scale poster campaigns like other party candidates.
Such unnecessary moves in campaigning for the election are designed to distract the voters from choosing their right candidates, they added.
They also told the media that using money to woo away voters has created a condition where some voters have made it mandatory for the candidates to offer them money before they cast their votes, which is not a good sign of democracy.
Muscle and money power should not be used to woo away voters as it is against the democratic principle.
