Advocacy meeting on COVID-19 vaccination held all over

To evaluate the knowledge, attitude and practices of the masses towards Covid vaccine, District Administration Churachandpur on Monday conducted a one day Covid vaccination advocacy at DTC Hall, Tuibong.
Speaking on the occasion, John Tlangtinkhuma, Secretary (PHED) stated that one of the major challenges with vaccination has been the "Vaccine hesitancy" which can be solved only by spreading awareness about the vaccine.
He urged the Church leaders, community leaders, chiefs and CSO leaders present to help the Government in providing accurate scientific information about the vaccine and explain to the villagers why it is vital to combat the pandemic.
Highlighting the achievements of the district in relation to Covid vaccination campaign, Khaikhopau Ngaihte, Additional DC (Development) stated that the administration will focus now on ‘vaccine hesitant areas’ to improve vaccination percentage of the district.
Lalramsang Infimate, Additional Secretary, Relief and Disaster Management; Khaikhopau Ngaihte, ADC/CCP; Dr VC Pau, CMO; Dr Paulunmang Vaiphei, DIO (Immunization) and DLOs, representatives from Churches and CSOs, chiefs from different villages and officials from Health Department participated in the event.
An interaction session was also held wherein the participants raised and shared their concerns.
KANGPOKPI
Commissioner (Works), T Ranjit Singh also chaired a meeting on Monday discussing action plans to enhance the number of Covid vaccinated population at Conference hall, Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kangpokpi District Headquarters.
It may be mentioned that T Ranjit Singh and Additional Secretary, Mercina Panmei have been assigned for Kangpokpi district to look after the Covid vaccination programme.
According to the data provided by District Health Department, the target population for vaccination of Kangpokpi district as per 2011 Census is 95,223, out of which 48.5 percent population have been vaccinated so far.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Kengoo Zuringla, IAS; officials including Superintendent of Police, Amrita Sinha, SDOs, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Executive Officer, Zonal Education Officer, Chairman Pastor Fellowship Kangpokpi, Chairman Kangpokpi Town Committee and District Information Officer.
SENAPATI
District Administration, Senapati also organised a District Level Meeting on Vaccination, Election and Covid-19 situation at DRDA Hall.
Speaking on the occasion, Mahesh Chaudhari, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Senapati stated that every individual must complete the process of vaccination to protect its own family and relatives.
He appealed to the DLO’s to ensure all employees are vaccinated at the earliest; Transport Office and Town Committee to actively check on Covid appropriate behaviour while traveling.
The DC also highlighted various ongoing development projects in the district such as Jal Jeevan Mission, National Highway project- Maram- Peren Road & Tadubi- Ukhrul Road and electric street lighting in the HQ.
N Gojendro Singh, Director Agriculture; M Joy Singh, Commissioner MAHUD; S Lunguiba Thangal, SDO Senapati; SP and ADSP’s Senapati also spoke at the meeting.
The meeting was attended by DLO’s and representatives of NPO, SDSA and SDWA among others.
