Police seize 100 boxes of beer

IMPHAL, Jan 25 : A team of Bishnupur commandos arrested one non local along with 100 hundred boxes of Kingfisher beer at Bishnupur Block Lamkhai this morning.
According to reliable information, the team detained one one Tata Ace Van while checking vehicles and people in the  area ahead of Republic Day and the State Assembly election.
From the vehicle, 100 boxes of Kingfisher beer were reportedly seized.
The driver of the vehicle has been identified as Rakesh Kumar Gupta (21), s/o Lokesh Kumar Gupta from Bihar currently staying at Churachandpur Old Bazar.
The arrested person has been handed over to the Excise Department Bishnupur along with the seized beer.
On the other hand, Imphal West district police handed over 4 persons detained during a search operation to City Police Station.
A surprise cordon and search operation was carried out at Thangal Keithel during which 160 individuals were detained.
