Governor leads in extending R-Day greetings

IMPHAL, Jan 25 : Governor La Ganesan has led in conveying his greetings to the people of the State on the occasion of Republic Day, 2022 on January 26.
Stating that the Indian Constitution was birthed on this day in 1950, the Governor asserted that the experiment of democracy in India has been successful despite reservations from various quarters.
He said that Indians ought to offer their homage to the founding fathers for their foresight and understanding on this occasion.
The Governor further called the electors of the country mature, as they have shown their aspirations reflected in the ballot. He also made a call to harness the potential of the youth in the right direction stating that this will usher the country to greater heights.
Joining the Governor, Chief Minister N Biren also conveyed his heartfelt greetings on the occasion of 73rd Republic Day.
In his message, the CM recalled the freedom struggle and the great freedom fighters of the nation who sacrificed their lives to secure India's independence. He stated that the freedom and fundamental rights enjoyed by the citizens of India are all due to the relentless struggles of the freedom fighters.
Further, he urged the people to reaffirm their unwavering commitment to uphold the ideals of the Constitution, advocate unity in diversity, fraternity and equality among all citizens.
Giving his warm greetings on the occasion, Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Y Khemchand Singh stated that the Republic Day is a day to be cherished and upheld with high esteem.
Education Minister S Rajen Singh also extended his greetings and urged the people to strive to work together to make India strong, peaceful and prosperous. Further, he called the people to uphold and promote the secular, socialist and democratic values inked in the Indian Constitution.
