Congman resigns

KAKCHING, Jan 25 : Social worker Yengkhom Nilachandra has resigned from INC today along with his supporters.
Yengkhom Nilachandra, who had been preparing to contest the upcoming 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election announced his resignation at a press conference held at his residence which was attended by his supporters from Sora, Irengbam, Bijoypur, Pallel amongst other.
With his resignation, more than 350 members also resigned and all booth level committees and Kakching Assembly Youth Congress have also been dissolved.
Speaking to the press, Yengkhom Nilachandra said he had joined the INC with the view of continuing his work for the welfare of the people, which he had been doing during his service days. However the INC has not taken into account the work done and named someone else as party candidate for the upcoming election, he added.
He also appealed the public to extend support to ensure his victory in order to enable him to continue his work for the people.
