Kpi, Ukl continue to be two least vaccinated dists Manipur reports 4 deaths, 461 new cases

IMPHAL, Jan 25 : Manipur reported 4 deaths and 461 new cases in the last 24 hours to take the total number of deaths to 2031 and the total number of positive cases to 1,30,951.
The 461 cases were detected out of a total of 2687 samples tested in the last 24 hours to take the daily positivity rate to 17.2 percent.
The four deceased persons were from Imphal East (2) and Imphal West (2) and while two of them had taken their second dose of the vaccine, two of them had not been vaccinated at all. All the four deceased persons suffered from co-morbidities, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room quoting the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee.
The 461 persons who tested positive included 15 Central security personnel and their positive statuses were detected at RIMS (40), JNIMS (29) and other testing centres (392).
The 446 civilians who tested positive are from Imphal East (116), Imphal West (204), Thoubal (29), Bishnupur (23), Kakching (12), Kamjong (2), Kangpokpi (9), Jiribam (4), Ukhrul (2), Tamenglong (5), Tengnoupal (3), Noney (3), Senapati (6), Chandel (2) and Churachandpur (26).
On the other hand 308 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours from home isolation (148), RIMS (4), JNIMS (27) and CCCs (129). The total number of recovered cases is 1,25,321 inclusive of 4603 Central security personnel. The recovery rate is 95.70 percent.
With the addition of 461 more cases, the cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,30,951 including 4898 Central security personnel and the number of active cases is now 3599 including 288 Central security personnel.
On January 24, a total of 7939 Covid vaccines were administered taking the cumulative figure of doses administered to 24,45,260 including 10,34,944 second dose. 17,286 precautionary dose were administered. 13,93,030 first dose vaccines have also been administered.
Manipur continues to lag behind in vaccination coverage with only 44.21 percent of the total eligible people having received the second dose of the vaccination jabs and only 58.06 percent the first dose. The hill districts, except for Chandel continue to come way down the vaccination table with Kangpokpi and Ukhrul occupying the last two spots on the table.  On January 24, a total of 260 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 51 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State.
