Meet held to ensure smooth conduct of polls
IMPHAL, Jan 27 (DIPR)
In view of the upcoming 12th General Elections to the Manipur State Assembly, scheduled to be held on February 27 and March 3, 2022, District Election Officer/DC, Imphal West Th Kirankumar, IAS, yesterday convened a meeting to facilitate and ensure smooth conduct of the election in respect of Imphal West District.
The meeting, which started at 1:00 PM in the afternoon, was held at Yum and the Hills Cottage, Luwangshangbam.
During the meeting, deliberate discussions were made regarding security arrangements, communication & coordination plan, accommodation and other welfare facilities of Observers. The officials present in the meeting also minutely discussed covid-related planning to counter the spike in coronavirus cases amidst the rising election campaign tempo.
Speaking at the meeting, Th Kirankumar instructed all the officials on election duty to remain alert and coordinate among each other in order to prevent any untoward incidents which could hamper the smooth conduct of free and fair election in the district. He also asked the officials to work diligently and put in their full potential while performing their duty so as to create a competitive working environment.
Superintendent of Police, Imphal West, Ksh Shivakanta Singh, IPS, while interacting with the officials, appraised the importance of Covid booster dose for frontline workers, and also directed all the police officers and police personnel to take Covid booster dose at the earliest.   
The meeting was also attended by police officers of Imphal West District, ROs and AROs of the district, District Nodal Officers, officers and staff of District Administration, Imphal West.
