IMPHAL, Jan 27 : BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda Devi has said that the party has not received any intimation on whether to announce its candidates in one go or in phases for poll bound Manipur from the Central office.
Even as Sharda said this, the State unit of the BJP has not released its list of candidates even late into the evening today.
With many intending BJP candidates lined up in almost all the Assembly Constituencies in the Inner Parliamentary Constituency, speculations were rife on when the list would be issued, with at least two such ‘unofficial’ lists going viral on the social media today.
On January 25, the day Chief Minister N Biren, Works Minister Th Biswajit and State BJP president A Sharda Devi returned to Imphal from New Delhi speculations were rife on when the list would be issued.
The Sangai Express had reported on January 25 that the list is likely to be issued on January 27, but even after a lapse of 48 hours, the list is yet to be issued.
The State BJP office has been under heavy security during the last few days, with the SP of Thoubal police issuing an order detailing the security arrangements taken up at the BJP office there.
Speaking to one TV channel, A Sharda continued that the party, however, will  release its candidates list soon as the date of issuing election notification is drawing near.
Claiming that there is no dispute for ticket allocation in all 60 Assembly Constituencies, the BJP chief maintained that she along with Chief Minister N Biren Singh and Works Minister Th Biswajit have submitted the list of probable candidates to its head office at New Delhi.
She continued that the party will surely field some female candidates.
The State will go to polls on February 27 and March 3.
