Shutdown effective

IMPHAL, Jan 27 : Total shutdown called by different underground outfits on 73rd Republic Day affected normal life in the State yesterday.
The total shutdown was called by the UPRFM, CorCom, NRFM, ASUK and SOREPA to boycott Republic Day yesterday.
All the major roads of the State wore a deserted look as most of the private vehicles, interstate and inter-district passenger vehicles stayed off the road, all shops and other business establishments at Ima Keithel, Thangal Keithel and Paona Keithel and petrol pumps remained closed during the shutdown.
The bandh was effective at district headquarters too.
