RIMS to get funds at par with AIIMS

RIMS Director Prof A Santa Singh has said that RIMS will be getting funds at par with other institutes like AIIMS in the next budget.
The Director made the remark while speaking at the 73rd Republic Day celebration at RIMS yesterday. Santa said that both the Health Ministry has been regularly monitoring the progress of different works taken up by the institute, said a statement issued by RIMS today.
Prof A Santa Singh further stated that the monitoring of various works in the institute started from the 2nd quarter of financial year 2021. Due to COVID-19, the institute had a tough time during the last two years, but somehow ‘we were able to get various projects to run on schedule,’ he added.
“When we start analyzing the utilization of funds of our institute and comparing it with other medical colleges in the North East States, we are far ahead during the 2nd quarter of the financial year 2021,” the Director informed. The institute is able to do very well on all fronts.  
By 2023, the institute will be able to compete with the best medical colleges in India, claimed Dr Santa. The Health Ministry recently selected 12 prominent Central medical institutions in India including PGI, Chandigarh, RIMS, NEIGRIHMS and new AIIMS institutes for Critical Care Management and appreciated the roles of these medical institutions in these areas and also sanctioned the start of the Critical Care Block Center. The Director stated that the institute is getting more funds and there will be no shortage of funds in the institute.
