The All Manipur Tammi-Chingmi Apunba Nupi Lup (Taami-Chingmi) and Ereipak Enaat Chanura Loisinlon (EECHAL) have expressed their deepest condolence at the untimely demise of Phanjoubam Sakhi Leima, fondly known as Ima Sakhi on the evening of January 23, 2022.
In a statement, Tammi-Chingmi lauded the contributions of the Apunba Manipur Kanba Ima Lup (AMKIL) president in the areas of empowering women to fight against the widespread use of illicit substances as well the draconian AFSPA 1958 and the 'Disturbed Area' tag saddled upon the State.
As per the statement, the organisation observed 2 minutes of silence to honour the memory of the remarkable Ima Sakhi.
EECHAL noted the various contributions of Ima Sakhi in various social issues prevalent in the State and asserted that her demise is a huge loss to the entire State and its people.
EECHAL expressed great appreciation for Ima Sakhi's courage and determination stating that her legacy will remain unforgettable. Further, Tammi-Chingmi and EECHAL also extended their condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
