Vaccination drive kicks off for kids at Nagaland

DIMAPUR, Jan 3: Along with the rest of the country, Nagaland Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Pangyu Phom officially launched the COVID-19 vaccination for 15 to 18 years age group today at District Hospital Dimapur.
Informing that Nagaland State has received 1,43,000  (One lakh forty three thousand) doses of vaccines, Pangyu said that it will be distributed to all the districts of Nagaland and appealed to the eligible registered beneficiaries to come forward and take the vaccination.
The Nagaland Health Minister congratulated the health workers and front line workers of Dimapur district for achieving more than the targeted figure (120% 1st dose and 96% 2nd dose). On behalf of the Government of Nagaland and on his own behalf, he expressed appreciation to Team Dimapur for the successful vaccination drive.
On the occasion, Pangyu gave away the certificates to the first four beneficiaries who received the doses right after the formal launching.
CMO Dimapur, Dr I Moa Temjen, in his opening remark, stated that vaccination response in Dimapur district has been very successful so far. He asserted that mortality cases are mostly from those who were not vaccinated and encouraged the citizens to get vaccinated.
Invocation prayer was pronounced by Chaplain, District Hospital Dimapur, Rev Yhumlo Thong.
The vaccine launching programme was attended by ADC Dimapur, MS Dimapur, doctors and other health workers.
