2 Omicron cases detected in Assam

Assam has detected two cases of Omicron variant, one of which is from Sonapur, while the second one is from Hojai district, Health Minister Keshab Mahanta said today.
“We have detected two cases of Omicron: one from Sonapur and other from Hojai district,” the Health Minister said.
As per the Health Department, the new case has been identified as Ahmed Hussain, who had recently come back from Saudi Arabia.
It may be mentioned that the first Omicron case in Assam was detected in Kamrup Metro’s Sonapur.
As per reports, a 13-year-old boy is infected with the Omicron variant of COVID-19.
He lives with his parents in a rented house at Sonapur.
The family is said to be living in Mumbai for a long time and had recently come back.
They had visited Shillong and after they were put through tests, the boy turned out to be positive for the Omicron variant.
