Former cricketer K Bobin honoured with "Mahatma Gandhi International Peace Award"

IMPHAL, Oct 2 : Former State cricketer and renowned singer, Konthoujam Bobin Singh was honoured with "Mahatma Gandhi International Peace Award" on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti by all India Congress Social Organisation, New Delhi.
The award in the field of "Social Reformer through Music and Sports" was formally handed over to Konthoujam Bobin in a programme held today at Constitution Club of India, Rafi Marg, New Delhi in recognition of his contributions in the field of music and sports.
It was another award for Bobin, son of (L) Konthoujam Tombingou Singh of Kwakeithel Akham Leikai, after he received an award from UNESCO recently for his songs based on social issues.
Bobin, one of the State's leading singers, having completed MA in English, was also an active State cricketer representing TRAU and State in his career spanning around 26 years.
Bobin who represented Manipur in  Ranji Trophy held at Kolkata in 2018 held the post of joint secretary of TRAU from 2016 to 2019 before becoming joint secretary of Manipur Cricket Association from 2019 to 2022.
