TSE staffer's son Hanjabam Hritikraj wins gold in State Level Powerlifting Championship

IMPHAL, Oct 2 : Hanjabam Hritikraj Sharma, son of The Sangai Express' Sub-Editor H Rajendrakumar Sharma won a gold medal in the 12th State Level Sub-Junior, Junior, Senior and Master Men and Women Powerlifting Championship which was held yesterday at Keishamthong Elangbam Leikai under the aegis of All Manipur Powerlifting Association.
Hritikraj of PBBPTC sealed the gold medal in the junior men's 66 kg category registering a total of 435 kg- 140 in squat, 105 kg in bench press and 190 kg in deadlift. Topper Athokpam of Radiant Fitness (390 kg) and Laishram Denish (370 kg) finished second and third in the same event.
In other weight group competitions for junior men, Pauminthang of Geness Gym-Churachandpur (90 kg in squat, 70 kg in bench press and 130 kg in deadlift) won the 53 kg category gold; Yumlembam Robinson of PBBPTC (110 kg in squat, 75 kg in bench press and 180 kg in deadlift) won the 59 kg category gold, and Yumnam Prakash of PBBPTC (110 kg in squat, 80 kg bench press and 180 kg in deadlift) clinched 74 kg category gold.
Sub-Junior Boys
Gaihutlung Panmei of PBBPTC won the 53 kg category gold in the junior boys category posting 120 kg in squat, 85 kg in bench press and 180 in deadlift to amass 385 kg as David Kapmuanlal of the F3 Gym-Churachandpur (385 kg) won the 59 kg category gold, T Prince Sharma of U-Fitness (395 kg) claimed the 66kg category gold and Tensubam Jestin of PBBPTC (445 kg) took the 74 kg category gold.
Senior Men
Pauginsang Khongsai of F-3 Gym was able to claim the  senior men's 59 kg category gold with a lift of 160 kg in squat, 120 kg in bench press and 215 kg in deadlift to make a grand finish of 495 kg. In the 66 kg category competition, RK Shitaljit of PBBPTC (110 kg in squat, 80 kg in bench press and 110 kg in deadlift) won the gold as A Simplejit of U-Fitness (70 kg in squat, 50 kg in bench press and 90 kg in deadlift) won the 74 kg category title.
Master
Longjam Vobindro of U-Fitness (60 kg in squat, 55 kg in bench press and 90 kg in deadlift) won the master-1 66 kg category gold.
In the master-2 category, Kirankumar Kangjam of PBBPTC (245 kg), Ngangbam Rabikumar of PBBPTC (195 kg) and Ph Nabachandra of PBBPTC (270 kg) finished first in the 59 kg, 66 kg and 74 kg events respectively.
In Master-4's 66 kg event, RK Chandrakumar of PBBPTC sealed the gold medal with a total lift of 170 kg- 50 in squat, 40 in bench press and 80 in deadlift.
Sub-Junior Girls
Kh Rudhia Devi of PBBTC (130 kg), Silky Thingujam of Martial Arts and Fitness Centre (225 kg), Nenghoikim Haokip of Molnom Village Gym-CCPur (205 kg) and Sanasam Chaoba of PBBPTC (220 kg) and Sarjubala Sagolshem of PBBPTC (220 kg) won gold medals in the sub-junior girls' 43 kg, 47 kg, 52kg, 57 kg and 63 kg events respectively.
Junior Women
K Thoibi Devi of PBBPTC was able to clinch the junior women's 63 kg title with a total lift of 230 kg- 80 in squat, 40 in bench press and 110 kg in deadlift.
Senior Women
Th Ashalata Devi of PBBPTC was able to win the 57 kg title with a total of 155 kg (50 in squat, 25 in bench press and 80 kg in deadlift) as P Jennifer of PBBPTC won the 63 kg title by lifting 80 kg in squat, 50 kg in bench press and 80 kg in deadlift.
PBBPTC-Keishamthong emerged both men's and women's team champions. Pauginsang Khongsai of F-3 Gym and Th Leima Chanu of SBBF-Kwakeithel were adjudged best lifter in men's and women's categories.
