IMPHAL, Oct 4: A Team of Imphal West Commandos detained five persons who failed to produce their proper verification identity proofs during a surprise cordon and search operation carried out at Thangal Bazar today.
The surprise cordon and search operation was conducted at Thangal Bazar starting from Jalal Crossing covering Anand Continental stretch, Major Khul, MG Avenue stretch, Sani Mandir to Manipur Press Club stretch by the team of Imphal West Commandos led by Inspector P Achouba, OC Imphal West Commando under the command of M Amit Additional SP Operation, Imphal West Commando today evening.
During the surprise cordon and search operation, more than 130 persons were verified and five persons who were unable to produce their proper identity proofs were detained and handed over to the City Police Station for proper verification.
