2nd AMFA CupSamson howler proves costly as AMOFA go down 1-2 to F4C Academy

IMPHAL, Oct 4 : An own goal by Hemam Samson proved costly as AMOFA go down 1-2 to Football 4 Change (F4C)  Academy today in the 2nd AMFA Cup group A match at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.
F4C started slowly and led the first half 1-0 with L Lalgungin Lotjem goal in the 34th minute and had the 2-0 advantage off an own goal conceded by Samson of AMOFA in the 69th minute.
Later on, AMOFA pulled back a goal in the 79th minute when substitute Heigrujam Johnson Singh made no mistake in sending home the ball after they were awarded a penalty.
Their efforts to draw level however went abegging as F4C defence stood firm to deny any further changes in the scoreline.
Later in the day, WAFA-Wangoi rode on Md Esha's brace to beat Angtha FC 2-1.
WAFA led the first half 1-0 through Md Esha's first goal in the 23rd minute and climbed to a 2-0 lead with Esha completing his double by converting a penalty in the 53rd minute.
Angtha FC intensified their campaign as the game wore on and Sorokhaibam Kaphoi Singh who came off the bench in the 30th minute, beat the WAFA keeper from the spot in the 78th minute after being awarded a penalty kick.
