IMPHAL, Oct 4 : Panchai SCC beat Thungcheng FC 5-4 on penalties after a 2-2 draw at Ziontlang village ground to enter the DC Chandel Trophy Second Division Football Tournament pre-quarter final stage.
ST Kamkhungam (40+1', 57') scored a brace for Thungcheng FC but his efforts went in vain as Panchai SCC who were 1-0 ahead with Bd Rolly goal in the 4th minute draw level during the stoppage time through TS Surash (80+1') to extend the game to penalty shoot-out.
In the shoot-out, RD Hmeyato, Felix, WS Larhring, SR Rintha and Aimson scored to give Panchai SCC the last 16 round berth as only WS Famous, St Ningphahman, M Kingrengshang and RL Nartha were able to convert for Thungcheng FC.
Later in the day, Shelsingwar (63') and Caleb (80+3') scored a goal each to help SASA knock out Khoriibung FC 2-0.
Tomorrow, Charangching Khullen YC will play Riverlane YC in the next match from 12.30 pm before Phunchung YC meet Morningstar YC from 2 pm.
