Rescued snakes, turtles released in wild

On the occasion of World Animal Day 2022 and the foundation day of People for Animals (PFA) Manipur, seven monocled cobra, a copper headed trinket snake and three Malayan Box turtle were released in Keibul Lamjao National Park yesterday.
The released animal species were rescued by members of People for Animals Manipur from different places across the State, said a press note by PFA.
The animals were released under the supervision of Keibul Lamjao National Park DFO, Kh Sanajaoba in the presence of BO, S Sanahanba and PFA Chairman, AK Prem.
PFA while expressing concern on the rising cases of snakes entering crowded human settlements appealed to all not to harm or kill these snakes in order to maintain the ecosystem.
Informing that migratory birds have started flocking in the State, PFA appealed to all to safeguard these birds and to contact them through mobile number - 9862107063 if anyone is found trapping or killing such birds.
