CADA continues protest

The Coalition Against Drugs & Alcohol (CADA) staged sit-in-protests in various places today in continuation of their agitation demanding the State Government to roll back the decision to lift prohibition on alcohol.
At Wabagai in Kakching district, Wabagai Tera Urak Apunba Meira Paibi Lup in collaboration with CADA Kakching District Committee staged a sit-in-protest at Wabagai Tera Urak.
The participating protestors shouted many slogans expressing their dissent against the State cabinet's decision.
A representative of the  Wabagai Tera Urak Apunba Meira Paibi Lup by the name of Khaidem (O) Pashot reaffirmed the stand of meira paibis against alcohol legalization.
Similarly, at Ningom Thongjao in Imphal East district, Ningom Thongjao Pebiya  Pandit Leikai Meira Paibi in association with CADA Imphal East District Committee organised a sit-in-protest at Ningom Thongjao Pebiya Pandhit Leikai  Community Hall today.
Speaking by the sideline of the protest, Nongmeikapam Pramodini, senior meira paibi asserted that the impact of alcohol abuse has been felt on almost every household and questioned why the State Government continues to remain ignorant of the negative impacts of alcohol abuse on people.
