KANGPOKPI, Oct 4 : The Thadou Students' Association (GHQ) has called upon the State Government to ensure complete adherence to the landmark judgment passed by the Supreme Court in connection with the Manipur Civil Services Combined Competitive (Main) Examination, 2016 on February 11, 2022.
The student body stated that as certain arrangements have been provisioned for the previously appointed candidates by the Supreme Court for reinstatement to their posts concerned by virtue of their extraordinary circumstances, victimization and undue hardships, the provision should be implemented immediately, and the process of interview for the newly successful candidates should be carried out without any delay or disruption.
"We respectfully urge the Government of Manipur to ensure the youth of our State are not victimized again", it stated.
The Supreme Court judgment of February 11, 2022, stated, "In the event, the candidates who were already appointed on the basis of results of the main examination conducted in September 2016, if successful in the re-conducted main examination in terms of this order, they would be given the continuity of service and consequential benefits upon being appointed against the concerned posts."
The Thadou students’ body also expressed profound joy and relief as the depressingly stalled State civil service selection process has been finally put on track.
While congratulating all those candidates who have cracked the MPSC conducted Manipur Civil Services Combined Competitive (Main) Examination 2016 (Re-conducted in 2022), the student body stated that to have persevered and laboured under such excruciating conditions of uncertainty, and to have enough patience for such a long span of time required utmost dedication.
The undesirable and shameful episode is perhaps unique to MPSC and Manipur, therefore all those candidates who have  succeeded as well as those who attempted wholeheartedly, despite such difficulties deserve respect and admiration, it added.
“We hope the MPSC shall henceforth be true to its  duty and not destroy the lives and livelihoods of the youth of our State in such  disastrous manner in the future” it continued.
The student body also stated that it is noteworthy while the MPSC has proved to be a hurdle to itself, its victims have shown extraordinary perseverance and devotion to the State.
Lauding the current Government under the leadership of Chief Minister N Biren Singh, for its dedication to fair and transparent recruitment process in the State, the TSA stated that the Government’s legal actions at the Supreme Court brought a resolution to the MCSCCE 2016 episode.
