RAUCO warns of agitation

THOUBAL, Oct 5 : Rural Area's United Club Organization (RAUCO) has appealed to the authorities concerned to repair the road stretch from Ushoipokpi to Lilong Turel Ahanbi Belly Bridge in Thoubal district by October 10 and warned of agitation in case of failure to comply with the demands of the organisation.
Speaking to media persons, Md Riyajuddin, spokesperson RAUCO expressed his displeasure over the deplorable condition of the 1.5 Km long road stretch and stated that the Government has left the road neglected for a long time.
He stressed on the significance of the road and added that the road links important sites such as SDO Office, Lilong Haoreibi College and Deputy Commissioner Office Thoubal.
He continued that the deplorable condition of the road has caused a number of hardships to the public over the years.
Md Riyajuddin further cautioned that if the Government failed to heed to their demands by October 10, the organisation would be compelled to launch a series of agitation including blocking the Asian Highway 102 indefinitely.
