Clean India 2.0 campaign launched

District Administration Bishnupur in association with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan Bishnupur today officially launched the month-long Clean India 2.0 Campaign in Bishnupur district.
As part of the campaign, a meeting on Single Use Plastics was held at the Conference Hall of Mini Secretariat Complex.
Speaking at the meeting, Lourembam Bikram, Deputy Commissioner Bishnupur stated that the district cannot afford to ignore littering as Bishnupur is a tourist hotspot.
Acknowledging the huge roles and contributions of participating local organisations, the DC exuded confidence that Clean India Campaign 2.0 in the district will be successful with active involvement of local clubs at the grassroots.
Dr S Dhananchandra Singh, Deputy Director, NYK Bishnupur informed that the campaign this year will focus on Single Use Plastics.
He also opined that Bishnupur will be able to achieve its collection target of about 4000 kg of plastic wastes.
Local clubs who have participated voluntarily in the Clean India campaign last year also shared their experiences to guide and motivate the new local club entrants.
It may be mentioned that NYK Bishnupur has scheduled daily activities under the campaign throughout October spanning across different villages in the district.
H Bobby Sharma, ADC; L Manikanta Singh, CEO Zilla Parishad; Mamoni Doley, SDO Bishnupur; Ejaj Hassan, AC to DC; L Rishikanta, BDO Moirang; Executive Engineer PHED, Bishnupur, EOs of Bishnupur Municipal Councils and local clubs participated in the meeting.
