Riverlane YC, Phunchung YC advance in Chandel 2nd Divn tourney's

IMPHAL, Oct 5 : Riverlane YC and Phunchung YC progressed into the last-16 round of the ongoing DC Chandel Trophy Second Division Football Tournament beating their respective rivals at Ziontlang ground today.
In the fourth match of the 32-team knockout tournament, Riverland YC played out a goalless draw with Charangching Khullen YC in the regulation time and penalty shoot-out decided the match. In the shoot-out, HB Oliver, PS Thaniwar, PS Beningam and LK Phowltha scored to earn Riverlane YC a 4-1 win as only Th Renglun found the target from the spot in the shoot-out.
Meanwhile in the fifth match, Lh Armhring scored in the 3rd minute to earn Phunchung YC a 1-0 win over Morning Star YC.
