Jaivik India Award 2022 recipient, Chongtham Shanta felicitated

IMPHAL, Oct 6: Jaivik India Award 2022 recipient, Chongtham Shanta who is the Chairman of Chakhao Poireiton Organic Producer Company Ltd was felicitated by Sinsang Organic Inputs Laboratory (SOIL) yesterday.
The felicitation programme was held at the Farmers' Convention Centre of the Green Foundation at Kwakeithel Thiyam Leikai.
It may be noted that Jaivik India Awards are presented in recognition of unique initiatives and exemplary contributions in the organic sector in India.
Former Dean of College of Agriculture, Central Agricultural University (COA, CAU), Professor N Iboton, the Green Foundation Chief Consultant, Dr M Thoithoi; CEO, U Himmat and former Director of Economics and Statistics, O Biren graced the occasion as the presidium members.
An organic input named 'GF-TRICO Plus' produced by the Green Foundation which has been put to trial at different locations was also launched during the event.
Speaking at the occasion, Chongtham Shanta said that Jaivik India Award 2022 has been conferred acknowledging the earnest contributions made by Chakhao Poireiton Organic Producer Company Ltd in collaboration with the farmers to produce organic Chakhao Poireiton.
He also expressed gratitude to SOIL for organising the felicitation programme in recognition of the sincere and dedicated efforts of his company and the farmers towards the production of organic Chakhao Poireiton.
Addressing the gathering, U Himmat maintained that it is a proud moment of the State that such a prestigious award has been conferred to Chakhao Poireiton Organic Producer Company Ltd and clearly depicts that farmers in the State can successfully practice organic farming.
He also wished success to all the future endeavours of the company.
He further assured to compensate the farmers if they face any problems or decrease in productivity after using the newly launched 'GF-TRICO Plus'.
