Free Mega Health Surgical camp held

Ukhrul, Oct 6 : Lions Club of Imphal Excellence, Lions Clubs International District 322D organised a 2-days "Free Mega Health Surgical camp with Cervical Cancer screening & Eye testing" at District Hospital, Hungpung village, Ukhrul.
As part of the camp, a public meeting was held today at the Hospital Conference Hall.
During the meeting, Lions club of Imphal president, Dr Soreingam Kasomhung informed that during the camp, major surgeries will be conducted in the District Hospital.
"Surgery performed together with the seniors & specialists will benefit, build confidence and give experience to young doctors of Ukhrul District Hospital", said Dr Soreingam while adding that the club will organise similar camps in the future.
Dr Gobin Mohan, District Governor elaborated on the objectives of Lions Club.
CMO Ukhrul, Dr Kapangring A Shimray highlighted the difficulties faced by the Ukhrul District Hospital and urged the club to organise more health camps in the future.
TNL president, David Kashungnao on behalf of the Tangkhul community expressed his appreciation and support to the club.
He also urged the Lions Club to visit the remote villages of Ukhrul district and provide their service.
Assuring to provide all possible assistance, David Kashungnao further urged the club to inform his office immediately in case of any disturbances or help.
It may be mentioned that more than 20 persons registered to undergo major surgery while about 300 persons would be receiving free spectacle frames and lenses during the camp.
Over 60 members of Lions club of Imphal Excellence took part in the Free Mega Health Surgical Camp.
Moreover, awareness programmes on drug abuse and career counseling for college students were also held at Sacred Hr Sec School and St Joseph college, Ukhrul.
