Cyber Jagrookta Diwas observed all over

CCP/KAK/KJM, Oct 6 : District Administration Churachandpur today observed Cyber Jagrookta Diwas at DC's Conference Hall, Mini Secretariat, Tuibong.
Speaking on the occasion, Thienlaljoy Gangte, ADC stated that with the exponential increase in the number of internet users, the rapidly evolving technologies have brought its own unique challenges, besides aggravating the existing problems of cybercrimes.
He mentioned that Cyber Jagrookta Diwas is an initiative of the Ministry of Home Affairs, brought under the I4C scheme with the objective of raising cyber security awareness among Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), banks, Panchayat Raj Institutions (PRIs), universities, etc.
Kh Kishwar Singh, DIO/NIC, Churachandpur stated that Cybercrimes can be prevented through "Cyber Hygiene" by inculcating habits of taking basic care of lCT devices at regular intervals such as, properly shutting down the computer, changing passwords at regular intervals, being cautious against opening of phishing websites along with other websites, etc.
He also educated the participants on basic protocols of Cyber Hygiene such as avoiding unknown Wi-Fi networks and using unsecured Wi-Fi hotspots, not sharing any information related to sensitive & financial aspects in social networks, etc.
Khaikhopau Ngaihte, ADC (Development); Zosanglur Joute, Assistant Commissioner; DLOs, staff of DC/CCpur, DRDA, CAF&PD, NIC, DIT and Election Department attended the event.

Cyber Jagrookta (Awareness) Diwas was also observed today at DC Office, Kamjong.
It was attended by DC Kamjong, Rangnamei Rang Peter; ADC, Ningeiram Leisan; Additional SP, Semmi Ramror, DLOs and staff of DC office.
At the event, Rangnamei emphasized on the importance of cyber awareness and cyber hygiene to prevent cyber crimes, phishing, online financial frauds, cyber impersonation, defamation cases etc.
The DC also appealed to all the officers and employees present to stay alert from any kind of cyber crimes, and to report any doubtful incidents to the nearest police station or SP Cyber Crime office.
Semmi Ramror gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation about the various kinds of cyber crimes, legal implications of those, and how to legally tackle such issues.
Similarly, Kakching District Police also celebrated Cyber Jagrookta Diwas today by organising awareness programmes at SP Office Conference Room and different police stations of the district.
