SBI Branch inaugurated at K Salbung

CCpur, Oct 6 : General Manager SBI NE Circle, Lunkim Thangboi and Saikot AC MLA, Paolenlal Haokip on Wednesday jointly inaugurated a new branch of the State Bank of India (SBI) at K Salbung village, Churachandpur.
The launching of SBI's 55th branch in Manipur also matched up with the country's largest lender reaching out to the local population through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and a Mega Credit Camp.
Addressing the event, Lunkim Thangboi stated that the State Bank of India which is considered as the best performing bank in the State has contributed over Rs 1 Crore worth of kits during the height of Covid pandemic.
He also claimed that the SBI has donated one Ambulance each to its partner NGOs in Churachandpur and Senapati.
Paolenlal Haokip; village chief of K Salbung, D Thangkholet Haokip, and S Thienlaljoy Gangte, Additional DC Churachandpur also spoke on the occasion.
Additional SP IUCAW, Hasby Haokip; J Lhungdim, IDAS retired; Letpu Haokip, president KIC; Khaipao Haokip, chief New Boljang; Paokhothang Haokip, chief Lajangphai and D Jangngam Haokip, chief Molvom attended the event.
After the inaugural ceremony, the SBI team led by Lunkim Thangboi also donated various items worth Rs 4.50 Lakh to the Ruth Blessed Home for Aged and Big Brothers Overcomers, a de-addiction centre, both managed by Women Welfare Association.
Later in the evening, Rs 4.18 Crore worth of sanction letters for 49 SHGs seeking credit from the bank were handed over to the beneficiaries during the Mega Credit Camp organised by SBI at ECA Church Hall.
Best performing Customer Service Point (CSP) providers were also awarded on the sidelines of the Mega Credit Camp.
