IMPHAL, Oct 6: Ganggam Soccer Club and Manipur Police Sports Club (MPSC) registered wins today at the ongoing 15th Manipur State League 2022.
In the first match between Ganngam Soccer Club and TRAU played at Artificial Turf ground Lamlong, Ganggam downed TRAU 2-1.
Skipper Seigoumang Guite opened the account for Ganngam in the 13th minute to give his team a lead. The first half almost ended in a 1-0 lead for Ganngam if not for an equalizer by TRAU's Bishal Robidas in the 44th minute of the game.
Seigoumang Guite took matters into his own hand in the second half and scored the second goal to tip the balance in their favour. The 2nd goal became the decider as TRAU failed to find an equalizer till the final whistle.
Today's second match between Young Physiques Union and MPSC ended in a 3-1 win for MPSC.
YPHU found an opening in the 25th minute with a goal from W Sadananda to take the lead. The lead, however, didn't last long as N Arjun Singh scored an equalizer in the 37th minute to level the score.
Koijam Umakanta scored another goal for MPSC in the 69th minute to take the lead. With pressure mounting on YPHU players, substitute Pangambam Can Meetei who came in at the 77th minute scored an own-goal in the 90+1' to aid MPSC to seal a 3-1 victory.
