IMPHAL, Oct 6: Kankhu Athletic FC beat Chumband YC 6-2 while Anal Khunou YC hold MDDI CSC in a 1-1 draw at the ongoing ADC Chandel Trophy First Division League 2022 organised by the District Sports Association Chandel today.
In the match between Kankhu and Chumband, Kankhu had an early opening with a 7th minute goal from Thumtha followed shortly by Mission in the 9th minute to give a 2-0 lead. Thumtha added his second goal and the third for his team in the 19th minute to further the lead to 3-0.
Mission scored another goal in the 36th minute while Thumtha added his third goal in the 40+2' minute to give Kankhu a 5-0 lead by the end of first half.
The first sigh of relief for Chumbang came in the form of a penalty in the 44th minute which Daimus made no mistake in converting. Ahong added the second goal for Chumbang in the 47th minute.
Mounting pressure on the team, Chumbang's Hushem's mistake in the 71st minute conceded a penalty for Kankhu which Sheltharing converted easily to seal a 6-2 victory.
The heated match showed as many as 7 yellows including a second yellow for Thumtha which ended in the referee removing him from the field.
The match between Anal Khunou YC and MDDI CSC on the other hand was equally match as Berash found the opening goal for Anal Khunou in the 27th minute while Richard scored the equalizer in the 38th minute.
