IMPHAL, Oct 6 : Rejecting the draft Manipur Liquor Regulation Policy issued by the State Government, Coalition Against Drugs & Alcohol (CADA) has said that the draft doesn't mention any provision which i acceptable to as well as several women organisations.
Speaking to the media at Palace Compound today, CADA general secretary Geetchandra Mangang said that there is great dissimilarity in the draft liquor policy issued by the Government and the white paper they demanded. He also claimed that the draft policy is incomplete as it doesn't say anything about health issues and social impact which legalising liquor will bring.
CADA will not hold any dialogue with the Government on legalising until a proper white  paper demanded by them is furnished. He then cautioned that CADA will support all agitations spearheaded by Nupi Samaj from October 11 onwards if the Govt fails to make its stand clear on revoking the Cabinet decision taken on Sept 20 within  the deadline served by Nupi Samaj.
