36th N Hazari and Dr N Tombi State PoloX-Polo Club beat Tekcham Polo Club 7-6 in cagey final to retain title

IMPHAL, Nov 11 : X-Polo Club-Wakhei successfully defended their title in the N Hazari and Dr N Tombi State Polo Tournament organised by Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association at Mapal Kangjeibung with a 7-6 thriller win against Tekcham Polo Club today.
P Ojit Singh carried forward his fine form to score another five goals in X-Polo Club's 7-6 victory today while L Atangba scored the other two goals.
S Sadananda of Tekcham Polo Club also scored five goals but his effort went in vain as they fell by just a goal from draw level. The other goal for the losing team was scored by K Jogendra.
X-Polo Club and Tekcham Polo Club were level till the first chukker scoring a goal apiece but X Polo Club had the 5-4 lead adding three more goals.
The third chukker saw the two sides add a goal each before adding two goals each in the final chukker.
Winners X-Polo Club walked away Rs 50,000 richer as the runners Tekcham Polo Club pocketed Rs 40,000 and a trophy.
Thangmeiband Youth Polo Club's Sinam Saolin was adjudged best young star polo player and feted with a cash reward of Rs 10,000.
