IMPHAL, Nov 12 : Kshetri Iril Mapal Youth Club (KIYC) rode on Ngangbam Naocha's brace to rout Anouba Imagi Mangal (AIM), Khabam 4-0 at Mini Stadium Bishnupur and climbed to second in the Group B table of the 15th Manipur State League on 16 points.
Naocha fired home the opener five minutes into the game before completing his brace in the 41st minute and giving KIYC a 2-0 first half lead.
KIYC continued to dominate the field in the second half as well and it was Ronald Singh Saikhom who further extended the lead to 3-0 with a fine finish in the 65th minute.
AIM had to slump further as defender Amarjit Thoudam conceded an own goal five minutes into the stoppage time and eventually KIYC romped home 4-0.
It was the fifth win over the Kshetrigao team in 6 matches, having settled the other game against SSU in a 1-1 draw on November 3.
The day also saw NEROCA FC-Sangakpham hold Dimapur Road Athletic Organisation (DMRAO)-Sekmai to a 1-1 draw.
Maharabam Karan Singh opened the scoring for the Sekmai outfit in the 27th minute before Gangmei Lanjonlung hit the leveller for NEROCA FC the very next minute. With the result DMRAO are third in the group table (13 points from 6 matches), three points behind KIYC while NEROCA FC are fourth with 11 points from 3 wins and 2 draws in 6 matches.
