'Nokphade Legal Awareness Street Play' performed at Ima Keithel, Lamlong Bazar

District Legal Services Authority, Imphal West (DLSA, IW) in collaboration with Manipur Legal Services Authority (MASLSA), District Police, Imphal West and District Administration, Imphal West organised a 'Nokphade Legal Awareness Street Play' performed by the "Nokphade Team" today at Ima Keithel.
According to a statement, this was done as part of the closing ceremony of the nationwide campaign "Empowerment of Citizens Legal and Outreach" and "Haq humara bhi to hai@75".
 The programme was conducted in the presence of Aribam Guneshwar Sharma, District and Sessions Judge, Imphal West cum Chairman, DLSA, IW; Ojesh Mutum, Member Secretary, MASLSA and Janggoulen Haokip, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal West cum Secretary, DLSA, IW. The programme was attended by the general public, police team of Imphal West district, law students and staff of DLSA, IW.
A total of around 400 people attended the aforementioned programme.
During the said play, messages related to general legal awareness were conveyed to the public, such as prohibition of child marriage, child labour, child abuse, trafficking, legal aid assistance availability for people etc. The public were also made aware that they can easily approach i) Legal Aid Clinics under DLSA ii) DLSA Offices and iii) MASLSA Office for such legal aid assistance.
Similarly District Legal Services Authority, Imphal East (DLSA IE) under the aegis of MASLSA organised a Nokphade play titled "Eikhoi Khangminnasi" at Lamlong Bazar, Imphal East.
The programme was attended by RK Memcha, District and Sessions Judge, Imphal East cum Chairman, DLSA, IE; Ojesh Mutum, MASLSA; N Lanleima, Presiding Officer Revenue Tribunal & MACT; Arshad Saeed Shah, Secretary, DLSA; RK Tejbir, Sub-Division Police Officer, Porompat; Ng Jadumani, Officer-in-Charge, Porompat PS and Thoudam Ruhinikumar, producer and director, Manipuri comedy series 'Nokphade'.
The play was performed by eminent Nokphade artistes of the State and was aimed at spreading legal awareness through comedy.
Pamphlets regarding rights of arrested persons, eligibility for legal aid, lok-adalat, etc. were also distributed in and around Lamlong Bazar and to the audience of the play.
