Jalesh tops in 1st State Level One Day Children's Day Chess Tourney

Jalesh Thoudam claimed the top honour in the 1st State Level One Day Children's Day Chess Tournament, organised by D-Chess Academy under the sponsorship of Bharat Vikas Parishad, Bazar Mahila Sakha at the academy's office at Uripok Khoishnam Leikai.
Jalesh Thoudam of Shishu Nistha Niketan clinched the first position with 4.5 points similar to his school mate and second placed Dayanand Thoudam as Laishram Tidison of Tiny Tots School finished third with 4 points. Maibam Yohenba of St Joseph and Lemba Sougaijam of Ramakrishna Mission School finished fourth and fifth with 4 points each respectively.
For U-10 Boys category, Yaikhomba Huidrom of Catholic School, Sinthoiba Ningthemcha of KVS Langjing and Veer Jain of Unacco School secured top three positions as Thokchom Preety of KVS Akampat, Moirangthem Nividhita of Sunrise Public School and Khaidem Linthoi of Olivia Hr Sec School bag top three places in the U-10 girls events, said a statement issued by Yambem Dhanabir, head coach of D Chess Academy. The winners in the respective categories were also feted during valedictory function.
